Once again, I am so so grateful for your work keeping us updated. But please do take a rest sometime, for your own sanity. You must be exhausted after watching TV for so long and typing for two days now.
Thanks Sannna!! Swapping channels a lot helps The sensationalism and political posturing is very painful .. you bet. I will rest soon. In a way it's been a distraction ... and I don't mean that disrespectfully at ALL to all the people going through these terrors. Our own small lives have been in rough turmoil these last 5 months and it's easy for me to throw myself into something else for a little. Thanks for your concern!

I'll keep saying it... IM is a lovely family

Not forever, obviously, but they'll be full of adrenalin and quite possibly some other stimulants.

At Nariman House... watching pictures from 15 minutes ago. One guy has jerry-rigged a long stick and a short stick together at right angles with a piece of cloth. He's hanging out the window and holding it up to bang against the window of the floor above. Can't determine if it's to break the window (two men now trying to swing it now) or distract any occupant.

It's a very weird thing to watch!

All reports show that basically things are at the same place at the Taj. Could still be up to 6 people at the Taj.. and they appear to be moving around the hotel. It may go on for many hours yet.

Are we facing another night of this?

Maybe when getting caught is inevitable they will commit suicide.

Hopefully, when we wake up tomorrow it will be over, like I expected it to be when I got up this morning.

Just a short note to Jude: You are an absolute saint of making sense out of all of this and reporting it. The news here in South Africa is fading and are being replaced by other "breaking" world news - thank you again for updating us and the reports on IM. You should get some sleep, you should be exhausted by now....

aw shucks... thanks all. Please... what I'm doing is NOTHING... just compare to everyone out there these last 48 hours (yes folks... it's 48 hours now) ... they'd all swap with me in a second.

On another note... just watched an absolutely engrossing and chilling interview with a woman who had just arrived for dinner at the Taj... 15 minutes before it all began. She was amazing and told a very detailed account of her harrowing adventure. Including how one staff member trying to save all the people took a bullet in the back. It passed through leaving a large hole that organs were pushing through. She had none of her doctor's equipment to do anything... patched up with a sheet. Gave him a foreigner's codeine. They moved several time but were not rescued until the morning. Had no toilets etc. It was quite phenominal. More tales like this will keep emerging. Many humble heroes.

They were not being held by the terrorists. They were hiding from them... staff at the hotel were secretly moving them from place to place (these were people in the restaurants)... and putting themselves at mortal risk doing so. Some amazing stories.

Wow! It is incredible how selfless some people become in a crisis.
