Few dozen lightly armed terrorists killed a couple of hundred innocent civilians in Mumbai over a four days terror rampage because of an incomptetent Indian administration.
Though to certain extent Indian political leaders and BIG bosses of big security agencies can be termed incompetent....but the commandos and their modus operandi seems very efficient and administration, citizens are showing amazing resilience.

However good or shambolic the reponse, this is no time to rant. Your post is not worthy of staying on. I hope the mods can get on to it.

I think everyone in the city did feel very frustrated at the slowness of everything. But we can only feel great thankfulness at the professionalism shown by the collective Indian forces in the last very difficult 40+ hours. They continue to face a situation no one should have to and they are doing an excellent job, at their own loss of life too.

Army hurls grenades into the Taj. And they are also saying possible half a dozen terrorists at the Taj still.. which could explain why this has been so so hard.

Just checked out some of the videos being played on IBN. I'd like to point out that the NSG commandos seem to be using MP5 navy SMG's, as well as a range of assault rifles and sniper rifles. So all the members that have been complaining about the incompetency of the Indian government and the commandos fighting with WWI/II weapons; these NSG's are actually using the SAME weapons the special forces in the U.S. and other European forces use. These guys are not incompetent or under supplied, they are comparable to any other special force in the world.

Ok, I'm done.

Thanks for the interesting info about the weapons. I think it was discussed earlier that the initial Bombay police force is equipped with those older weapons. I am certainly used to seeing them here. And we've seen that on tv too. But the police have no longer been involved in these operations. The NSG took over a long time ago, and as you so correctly point out, they are far better equipped.

Times Now reports that a body is being moved around on 4th floor Nariman House.

Not sure who it is. I am hoping its a terrorist.

News now that one of the reasons there has been such a delay in storming Nariman House is because the large number of civilian bystanders. Ugh... insane.

The reporter is now insisting there are NO hostages left at Nariman House. I have never seen anything about the rabbi and his wife coming out. I just don't know what the truth is.. but it's hard to believe that they would fire on the building like that with innocents inside. Fingers crossed. Anyone heard anything else?

I think once again we have been hood winked by the media. They have been reporting that there is a solitary terrorisy holed out at Taj for ages now.

But that clearly is not the case. It would appear there are certainly more terrorists both at Taj and the Nariman House than what is being reported.

Madness and commotion outside the building... cameras and people appearing very jubilant. Looks like it is secure. Waiting for real details.

Nariman House has been secured. They are reporting high fives among the commandos.

More confirmations coming that the building has been secured.

The police has been allowed access to Nariman House. Woo hooooo.

Just saw a live interview on BBC with a local resident who told this exact same story:

He leaves behind a wife and two kids.""
so I can only assume it was Arun Shanbhag:
