Are 4 hours betw. international and domestic flight enough time?

Hi folks,
I´ll arrive in Mumbai at 4.30 in the morning from Istanbul and got flight to Cochin at 8.30 from the other Terminal on December 24th.
Will 4 hours be enough to get luggage, get money, switch terminals and check in again?
As it´s Christmas I don´t wanna miss my flight so I wonder if its better to take one at 11am - but thats long waiting..
I already got my visa but not sure when shuttle bus goes and what´s with long queues, e.g. because of influenza-scanning and so on..
Any help appreciated, THX!

Hi, and welcome to IndiaMike.

This question gets asked very regularly; most any thread here will feature a listing of "similar threads" at bottom of page, just like this one does, just scroll down for it; this can be a handy way to quickly search on on a given theme. Opening those, they'll feature such a listing at bottom again, etc.

You should be fine if the flight's on time.
1 hour to disembark, get your luggage and get through customs.
1 hour to find/wait for/take the shuttle.
Gives you 2 hours left so probably an extra hour to wait before check-in if all goes smoothly.

Thanks

Thank you! Yes, I´ve seen that this question is asked sometimes (after I put mine here..) - but was wondering if there are special circumstances because of the H1N1-Influenza or maybe eben Christmas-Travelling / High-Season, which make it harder or the queues longer.. So I hope it works out - and already booked it!
:-)

4 Hours is enough time to reach domestic terminal from international terminal in Mumbai.
As all domestic flight checkin start around 1 hr before, i.e. 7.30 in your case. You shuld be there by this time.
it all depends on your arrival in Mumbai, as the early morning arrival is the peak time for mumbai airport you should rush in as soon as possible.
which airline you are using for domestic travel? check their website and get their airport check in nos so you can call from international airport terminal that you have arrived and take time to reach domestic terminal for check in.
If you are arriving in Inida on Inida carrier i.e. indian airline your luggage and terminal transfer can be faster and easier.
all the best and have a nice time....

Don´t know from where ((which?) domestic Terminal?) that one leaves; I gotta find out within the next weeks as it´s not explanied in my booking.. (so if you do know I´d be happy to read)

Spicejet goes from Domestic 1B. The airport shuttle coach will know.

Yep, should not be any problem. Shuttle time maybe ten minutes at that ungodly hour.

I do not wish to scare you, but we travelled last year too with turkish airlines and it was delayed for 2 hours.........i really hope it was a one time incident and not a regular feature.......In case there is a delay, you can always jump the immigration line by telling it to the staff ( they are very cooperative), get your baggage and take a taxi to the domestic and that should be sufficient......sorry to be a spoilsport here...

I´ver read that they usually are on time, so I hope it - cause if not it would be a real problem for us...
:-/

But if we´re late it´s hard to get the luggage in time I guess?
So is a taxi better then the shuttle? Thought I´ve read that the shuttle is much faster cause insine the airport - and a taxi goes outside and takes much longer!?
Have a good night, read you soon.. ;-)

The thing with the shuttle is that it may leave half an hour later after you exit the airport- they have a rough timetable. SO if tight for time and no shuttle leaving, a taxi is better.

Prob. with a taxi is that they do not want to go short distances, and will ask for much more money.
