I am planning to relocate to Pune from London. Wondering any of you have done so from London and know any good shipping companies. I am living in London from 98 so there is lot of stuff to ship.

We are moving to Pune this month from Munich, Germany. We are using these guys: www.globemoving.net They seems quite professional to me but since I haven't yet moved, I couldn't comment much on their services. But this was recommend to me by one of my friend, who had used them once. There is a guy Ajit, & you can use my name as a reference. He will sure give you more details on how to move, what to expect, custom procedures, etc. He seems a very nice guyu to me & he was the one who helps me in everything regarding the move.

They have partners all over the world & they will arrange for a free assessment from a professional mover in London to come to your place & have a look around for an initial quote for a door-to-door move. The quote is based on volume and/or weight & so they need to come to your place to have an idea about how much volume they are looking for.

Hi Kumar,

I did not see the post by Saulat. Though he has given his recommendations, he had mentioned that he would not be able to comment on the services yet as the goods were not yet shipped. In most cases, there are two teams who gets involved. One is the marketing team and the other is the packing team. Sometimes the marketing guys talk sweetly, but the packing may not be up to the expected standards. As you mentioned that you have got lot of stuff as you have been staying in the UK for 10 years plus, i suggest you consider few more options before deciding. I work for a British Bank and we have got emapanlled movers who move our expatriates all over the world. As we have a global contract the rates are also reasonable. Do let me know if you wish me to provide their contacts.
