Relocating to Pune
Hi..
My husband and I are planning to relocate to Pune from Mumbai. The reason for the move is purely to get away from the maddening crowds and endless traffic jams and also the heat in mumbai. Besides both of us are IT professionals and have better options there rather than in mumbai. Just wanted inputs as to how Pune is as a city. I have stayed in pune from 2000-2002. And it was a very nice and peaceful place then. But off late i have heard people complaining that it is getting more and more like mumbai. I know that the influx of people to pune has been on a rise but i would expect it to be still much better than in Mumbai atleast as of now. My husband has been offered a job for which he has to travel to Magarpatta(near hadapsar) and we would be staying at Aundh. Any inputs on how bad the drive would be during peak hours? Any inputs would be appreciated as we are quite apprehensive about the whole move and whether its worth moving there for the reasons I have mentioned. Thanks. |

The weather is certainly more pleasant in Pune than Mumbai. I wouldn't want to be commuting from Aundh to Magarpatta though - they're on opposite sides of the city!
