Pune - how is it, really?

Hi Guys,
Is there anyone around who has been living, is living or is planning to live in Pune? How is it?? I've got an opportunity to go there, but very unsure how it will be. Is there any things to do? Sports? Nightlife? Anything?

I've got plenty of experience in living in Asia... but in bigger cities before.

Pune is a very rapidly growing city with increasing influx of
i. college students, being a center for education;
ii. IT executives, the city being the next hub of all IT activity after Bangalore and Hyderabad in India
iii. Lot of manufacturing geniuses as adjoining Pimpri-Chinchwad is the hub of automotive and auto parts industry.

Sports - the 2008 Commonwealth games is being held at Pune, so expect lots of sports facilities - new ones and older ones renovated.

Nightlife - Lots of clubs and pubs in the city, all ranging from Student hangouts to five star clubs. Most of the places close by 11-11.30 though.

Living Expenses - Proximity to Mumbai has led to increase in basic living costs, though things are still affordable.

I visit Pune often usually over the weekends every alternative one at time. I stay in Mumbai but frankly speaking over the past 3 years I have seen Pune growing leaps n bounds in all aspects from nightlife to crowd to infrastructure to quality of eating joints etc. And the best part compared to Mumbai is far more cheaper to survive. Overall a nice place

Pune is a great town. But, note the rise in congestion over the last two decades..
