Moving from London
Hi, my am moving to Pune from London to manage a design studio in Feb. I will be coming with boyfriend and out 1 year old son. Although I have lived and worked in India before I am a little nervous as I am bringin a baby and want to feel that he is safe and happy. My studio will be just off MG road and I understand that many expats live in Koregaon Park. Is it easy to find places to rent for 1 x year or is the red tape of things a nightmare? The area sounds perfect, but does anyone how far it is from MG road and are there are lots of other young families there or good nurserys? I have stupid fears like snakes, heat and water (which never crossed my mind when i was out there before) do other mothers fear these things too or am i being over protective fusy mother!? Is there good doctor clinics in the Koregan park district? I am sure I have many more questions and will post a few times but any reassuring words would be great!

Hi becs, welcome to the site have you moved yet? hows it going?
i moved to India in Oct from London with my wife and little girl who's 3 to set up an office for my UK company. It takes a little time to settle in know whats what etc.. we are based in Mumbai but the family will move to pune in June, we bought a flat and its circa 6 months from completion. the climate is better in Pune and the schools are good hence the move. I will carry on living in Mumbai and travel alt weekends to visit. what's your other half going to do? what football team does he support? would be nice to connect with you all for some social time out.. where in London are you from? cheers Moe |

Dear WestLondoners
Just seen this! Sorry! Yeah, we're loving it - laughing our arses off everyday. (well, apart from when our young son feel through glass coffee table and ended up in hospital for 2 night, not so fun at all!)
would be great to meet up when you guys move to town. Nate (our son) is starting Kangaroo Kids nursery in Koregan park in June, are you sending your little girl anywhere? Colm, sadly supports Aston Villa, but hey what can ya do!? He is greatly missing the 'craic' that goes along side Match of the Day ,and however much I try and get excited, my heart just isn't in it! Here's my email address, so pop my a mail when you get a chance. becsviveash@hotmail.co.uk take care Becs |

Becs, Colm, and Little Nate xx Welcome to India. You can easily get a place on rent for an year (the standard lease agreement is for 11 months and the money for it is shared by the owner and the tenant.) Koregaon park is about 4 kms from MG road...or 15 mins away. You have everything you need in Koregaon park and the adjacent Kalyani Nagar (which too you can consider for accomodation), as these are very upmarket areas. This includes doctors, malls, cinema halls, restaurants, schools etc. You will be lucky to find a snake in a concrete jungle You will find more young families in kalyani nagar than Koregaon park.It will be a good idea to get your hands on some vehicle in Pune...may be even a small motorcycle or scooter for ease of commuting as public transport is poor. For accomodation, you can check magicbricks.com Lemme know if you need any more information
