Craic in pune
hey, moved here with my boyfriend (british and Irish) mid Feb and having great time (apart spending 2 nights in hospital when are 20month old son who fell through glass coffee table - not such a great time)
We have been out a bit, now that we have found a baby sitter. Its like only city, good places, rubbish places, posh people, lovely people, boring people, fun people...so far so good though have to say, laughing our arses off daily! Hope that you are enjoying yourself Becs x |

, you will find the clubbing scene a bit disappointing compared to Delhi/noida. try out 'Scream' at le meridian, its open till 2 am on occasions. Most of the great hang out joints are at KP(koregoan park area). But overall, Pune has some nice places to offer. I spent 1 and half years here and these are my final couple of weeks- will miss the place! .. enjoy your stay here! |

Hi! I have just accepted an offer to work in Pune! I am really excited to be coming. I was in Noida/Delhi last year for 2 months and couldn't wait to come back.
my office will be in Viman Nagar and I have been told that is close to Koregaon Park? Where should I look for housing? I will also need a school for my two boys (ages 3 and 4) so i don't know if I should live closer to a school or to work or if there is a school near my office? any insight is most appreciated! Thanks, Kathleen |

Viman nagar is a newly developed area. It has many possibilities for a stay. Also, you could find good schools in that area.
As far as Koregaon Park is considered, it is around 4-5 Kms away. |

Thanks Patilsushant001 for your insight! So is this neighborhood a good place for a family with small kids or is it better to stay nearer to Koregaon Park? I am looking to be near other families if possible but also not too far from office or schools.

I guess many of them should be staying around Koregaon Park area. I work close to Koregaon Park in Kalyanagar and many foreigners can be spotted in this area. I guess, it is mostly because of the Osho Ashram. However, I believe, rent in Koregaon Park area should be much higher than Vimannagar. |

But a lot of expats seem to prefer Koregaon Park and Kalyani Nagar cause thats where all the action is If you need any help regarding Viman Nagar - let me know. I moved to Pune about a year back and have been in Viman Nagar ever since. |

Being closer to work always help. I'm living in Koregaon Park & its 5 mins drive to my work !! It saves you with lots of traffic jams & frustrations while stuck in traffic.
As Patil said, Koregaon Park & Kalyani Nagar are the preferred location for expats & people coming from outside of Maharashtra. Koregaon Park is the most happening place with all the great restaurants & things like that but is the most expensive. You could also choose Kalyani Nagar if you want, as that's also very cosmopolitan having people from all around the place. Its more nearer to Viman Nagar & a slight cheaper than Koregaon Park. You can have a look around once you are here to decide where to stay. I guess you'll be getting an accommodation initially from your work place & you can then go around & decide once you are physically here. When are you going to be here? |

Yes Kalyani Nagar.. and Koregoan park are the most happening places in Pune.. a lot of restaurants for all kinds of taste buds are here.
Airport is 5 minutes from Kalyani Nagar.. The railway station is about 15 minutes.. 11pm every thing shuts down and the cops are tight on this.. Cheers..!!!! |
