Foreigner Registration --- Where to Go.
Foreigner Registration --- Where to Go.
Have looked all over the web and cannot find:
1. location of the Foreigner Registration office in Pune
2. document requirements for registration
The person in question is a PIO holder with a family (also PIO holders) and needs to register in the next few months.
Can someone help?

Google for Pune Police. If they have a website, it may well include instructions as to where to register.
If not, find the head police station and go there. the function of 'FRO' outside of the metros is done by the police.

Here is where to go and get registered in Pune. And here is a screenshot with the police station highlighted. Make sure you have *lots* of photocopies of all the required documents! Good luck! They are pretty good though - I was a few weeks late on a renewal, and they didn't give me any trouble. Quite the reverse - I got years and years of extension! Be prepared to wait and get more photocopies form the shop near the petrol station though...

A great map, wah..
Update on the location. The FRO is located in the Police Commisioner's office which is one block west of the locaion marked in the map above.
The office is at the corner of the intersection and the entrance is from the east-west road. The FRO is located in the main building which is reached by going stright into the complex and then taking left and right turns. The office is in the first room in the right hand side in the corridor on the right hand side.
It is open from 10:30 to 1:30 and 3:30 to 5:30. I believe that they accept the applications in the first session only.

Ah, a new location from the one I went to. They told me to get lost, that my work was boring and not to bother them. Several years later I left India. Maybe, my work was boring.!
