Hi,
I'm from Melbourne, Australia and will be heading to Nashik in June for work. Never been to India so any help, comments, tips with regards to living and meeting friends in India as well as how much money per month in INR i may need etc would be more than welcome! Also looking to travel quite a lot so great places to see would be most welcome! Thanks, Kanchi ![]() |

Nashik is apparently the next boom town in Maharashtra, now that Pune is slightly cooling off. I would say you wouldnt need more than 30,000 INR a month to stay comfortably.

More info bout Nashik
Hi
Thanks for the response! I get a 20,000 INR/month allowance and my rent paid and the company also said they will take care of getting to and from work. Do you have any reccomendations for places to rent that i should accept and what means of transport to and from work i should be expecting? Also what is the normal working week/hours like in india? I also wanted to travel around india and possibly to china and nepal during my stay. What are flight prices like and also is flying the best means of transport? I still get my Oz salary on top of my allowance so was thinking of spending that on travelling. Approx how much in addition to the allowance would i need? As for the boom what will it be in? --> Harware? what companies have been moving there recently? Thanks again for the info. |

Kanchi !
Nashik is really a upcoming town. But it depends on your budget and choice as there are flats and there are home/banglows...apartments to live in. I think you will love Nashik in June as monsoons comes by that time...and very soon you will be thinking to have a small car or bike..as it is great experience to drive to distant places. Although you have to have someone who speaks MARATHI. Coming to specific questions: You can handle yourself with anything between 15K to 20K with ease. |
