Life in Ahmedabad - What's it like?

Hi everyone!

I am a MSc business student and have been offered an exiting job opportunity in Ahmedabad! I have been to the city for a few days but didn't get the chance to see much of it. As you can imaging I got lots of questions, here are just some to start with ...

I know India form previous travels and internships but how is life as an expat in Ahmedabad and is there some kind of an expat community?

What would you say is a minimum salary to enjoy your time? (living in a clean 1 bedroom flat around Satellite, going to a restaurant once in while, not worrying too much about the general expenses such as transportation, AC, clothing etc...)

I'm Niral, I'm born and raised in Ahmedabad, its a pleasant place to live i'd say.
Its 6th largest city of India and one of the most upcoming ones.

Living in ahmedabad lavishly including your food, accommodation, transport and your utility bills could end up somewhere around 12-15K (INR).

Will cost you more the farther west you are, Satellite is west. Once that's settled, you'll know how you'll be. But anything over 1000USD/month should take care of you, even on that side of town.
