Expats in Chandigarh

Hi there!
I would love to get in contact with anyone who can help me with acquiring an apartment for rent in Chandigarh from October 2012!

I am a PhD. candidate in Social Anthropology from Norway, and will be conducting research in the Shivalik area for approximately 12 months. My husband and baby will move along with me.

We have lived in India before, in 2008, but as we lived in a rural Rajasthani village with a host family at that time, I have no experience with how to proceed aquiring an apartment for rent.

I have no contacts in Chandigharh either, so I am feeling a little nervous moving to India with a little baby without any leads on a place to stay. I am rather new to the city, have only visited once, so if anyone has any advice for me, please send me a PM!

I'm obviously a bit dense, because I can't figure out how to PM, but Raveesh - We're wondering how to go about renting an apartment in Chandighar? Is there any web-pages that you could recommend, or do people use a particular newspaper? Any sectors to avoid, or anyone to recommend? Any obvious pit-falls? How much should we be prepared to pay for a 2 bedroom apartment (standard is more important than size, but we would like to rent second or third floor - I assume that those are the more expencive?) I've got many more questions- tell me how to PM and I will continue there
