resources for new arrivals
As my previous message was deleted since it was suspected of malice, I repost following the proper protocol (or so I hope!)
As you may or maynot be aware, there are several online resources for new arrivals to Mumbai. The typical american womens group and consulate type groups exist and can be found by searching. these typically include only women who are not working but have followed their spouse for his job. they have activities such as coffee mornings, craft days, volunteering, etc. There are also groups on facebook (bombayexpats) and through yahoo groups. these groups tend to focus a bit more on the 'younger' crowd with drink nights, sunday brunches, etc. they also are useful for people looking for apartments, specific information on where to buy western products, how to find good tailors, etc. there are an amazing amount of resources online (including this site) these days that didn't exist several years ago, so I am only doing my part to spread the message so that others can benefit. |
