What exactly is an HRA? (Or a PF or PT for that matter?)

Aha. Next question which might be helpful: What city? Mumbai?

In other words, maybe fill in some details to help others to help you.

See also How to get the most out of the Itinerary section. , you can easily extrapolate this to your own specific field of enquiry.

I Live in Mumbai and I rent a house.

I know about the 3 points for computing HRA.
HRA is exempt to the extent of the least of the following:

1) The actual amount of HRA received.

2) 40% of salary (basic component + dearness allowance). This increases to 50% if you are renting out the house in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai or Kolkata.

3) Rent paid minus 10% of Salary (basic component + dearness allowance)

Since I have no dearness allowance as listed in my salary breakup and I live in Mumbai, I want to know that from the remaining components which should I consider for the computation of HRA.

I think you had better ask an auditor.

Do bear in mind that this is primarily a travel site. Whereas we have many resident Indian members who give lots of time and information and advice --- for nothing other than the pleasure of interacting with other members --- I think this sort of specific professional salary/tax advice is something you should be prepared to pay for.

Not just resident members, the breakup looks like a Government salary scale, so if I am right, the OP needs a Public sector employee member too.
