Is that “uncertain” enough for you?

By the way, I dont get what u mean by OP or Yannick. I saw Yannick is a name of the forum people, isnt it? Or why is that confusing for you?

Besides, i have just been told VASHI is not as "nice" as i thought. I would have to check the old forum´´s entries to revise answers on dif areas.

time to go.
Hi, if you decide to come, you will have to also probably buy appliances from stove, oven, fridge, washing machine--everything. We have a large housing budget and found maybe a range/oven in only 30% of the apartments. Everything was stripped out.

Decision taken; i moved one step fwd already;...but npot there yet (at least physically). Thanks RENWAA for your comment; I wish u very good luck in Mumbai, no doubt u found good people there.

I just hope i dont need to buy those appliances, fingers crossed!!

By the way... do they need a nice good proffessional SPANISH teacher where your kids go? Im going as a tourist first but, coming back as a teacher is a good option. THough u get more with private lessons, they are not that "safe " as a monthly income I guess. But dont wory if u know nothing about this.

It looks either around mid July or August im going there. THre is sth i need to do in June, depending on that, my arrival is sooner or later. Besides, I am curious about htis place in Mumbai, "BOMBAY SMILES", heard of it?

I wish u all a good monday and an even better week!!

Yes, thank you! It is mostly in "CATALÁN", not exactly "spanish". Whole essays written about this. But no language discussion here.

I wanted to know what you guys in there know from their projects. I am visiting them once there. I know it was founded by a Spanish guy who first went on holiday, visited again and... never left. From 40 kids they managed to make it to 2000; good for education!! I´m not sure the book is written in ENglish, but god knows is worth reading!! It makes you "feel", t doesnt matter how much u like the idea or not. It just makes u think about a couple of things. Amazing work!

However, i am not there, and i am not from India. that´s why i was curious about the "indian context" point of view.

Namaste!! and thanks for the youtube! i didnt know about that part!

As of now its not very well known (like Mother Teresa's for example). It seems to be a local Vasai orphanage.

Give it some time and it will be well known.

THEN you will get your "indian context" point of view.

Two basic questions from someone who just moved to Mumbai... Don't know if this the right place to post them.

1. Where can I buy a plastic/steel fold up bed (charpoy-like) near Dadar-Matunga-Mahim (W).
2. How much should it cost?
3. Where can I buy a clothes rack. I don't know if this is the right word, but what I mean is just a basic rectangle thing on which I can hang my clothes...

Picture of clothes-rack, I hope...

Thanks.

Clothes rack

I just bought one of those clothes drying folding racks (supposedly made of stainless steel, but I have seen others like these rust so I dont think they are).

If you are in the Dadar-Matunga area, ask for the Kabutar Khana (literally, Pigeon House) part of Dadar. You will find a number of hardware stores pedding all kinds of metal work on the stretch from there to Prabhadevi.

For reference I paid Rs 1400 for a fairly large one with four folding flaps to take up daily wash for a family of four.

I think you can find the other things you are looking out for there as well.

Good luck.
