Yoga, Hindi, and... Bollywood!!
Hi everybody,
i hope u r having a good week. For those with some extra time, pls, see if u can answer these (dhanyawad!): Hatha Yoga School? Where around in Mumbai? both central and a diferent area too. How much and how often for regular lessons? Same questions for Hindi and Bollywood dancing lessons, both private and at school? Do you know the teachers/schools yourselves?? How much? Thanks again. |

A 1BHK at 8k per month either central suburbs like Vikhroli/Mulund on the western line might get at Borivali i doubt any way closer.. the ideal option would be local train to Dadar (central stn for both western and central line).

Yoga-hindi-bollywood
[Thanks Snonymous & Avidtrekker]
Letīs say I am already in Mumbai: with... a small flat (1 or 2 rooms), or a small nice house; public transport; food; Bollywood, Hindi and Yoga lessons; SOME DREAMS COME TRUE; (...) Big question is... i have my own calculations and figures, but a more "real" answer at this extent will help: How much a month you spend? If you live in Andheri, for example; or closer to Vasai (if cheaper), can you afford that with... Rs30000?? Do you always have to pay money in advance apart from your monthly rent (to the owner)? Asking for oneor tw months in advanc is normal? How does it work? Sorry for today's messy questions, and thanks everybody again. P.S. For Rs30000 a month, what can you do in Mumbai? |

For Rs 30,000... in Mumbai, if I had that budget...
I would apportion it this way... Rs 10,000 for monthly rent. Even Central and North Mumbai not possible. I would choose Navi Mumbai area for relatively broad roads, quieter lifestyle, and "not-yet=fully-saturated" rail and road network. Rs 10,000 for monthly rent. I would choose Navi Mumbai. Can get studio apartment in "downtown" Vashi or a bigger apartment in Belapur etc. If I were single, I would choose Vashi, the most central location. If I wanted a bedroom separate, no choice but to go further. Most people would like the rent for eleven months in advance. Rs 2500 for electricity including airconditioning. Without aircon it will drop to 700 Rs 500 for laundry (wash cum iron)(dhobi comes home every day) Rs 1000 to 1500 for cleaning maid part time Rs 5000 for food. Alcohol NOT counted. Eating out in fancy places NOT counted. Rs 3000 for transportation. (public transport) Leaves you with 7500 for your Hindi, Yoga and dancing classes. May not be enough. If you go to Panvel, the rent will be around 5000. That can be put in classes. I have not calculated emergencies or shopping. Not enough money for that. 10,000 Rent 02,500 electricity 01,500 maid 00,500 laundry 05,000 food 03,000 transportation 07,500 classes ============== 30,000 Total ============== . . |

very afraid
I read your response to another person's questions. My son, husband and I are planning to move to Mumbai with in 6 months. We are planning to come to see it in June. He is getting a job with Kingfisher airlines. I have been born and raised in the Mid-West(Wisconsin) and have lived in Arizona for 6 years. My husband has lived in India before and is Punjabi. I know he is excited, but I am very afraid. I k now knowthing will be like home here, but I want to love it in Mumbai. Any words of help or advice?
Thank you Jenn Quote:
