Question Mumbai: Advice for schooling and areas to live?

Hi, can anyone offer any assistance. My partner and I are flying to Mumbai next week for a possible job offer. We will have 2 days to meet with his firm and customer and to visit schools/residential areas. We are unsure yet where he will be placed but it will either be Bandra or Airoli. I have read other postings on this website and it is recommended that you live near to the school. We are looking at ASB and have sent them an enquiry however I notice that in Oct 07 somebody has made comment that they were full. Our girls are aged 6 & 9, we are British, does anybody have other schools that they can recommend? Also from what I have read on this website, Hiranandani Gardens is an area that is family orientated, is this correct? Also Juhu/Bandra are mentioned quite a lot. We are really starting from scratch but may not have much time so any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. If we live near the schools, what would the travelling distance be for my partner to get to Airoli if we were to reside in Juhu/Bandra or Hiranandani Gardens? It is clear from other postings that you have to get where you live in relation to where the school is correct I guess the rest just falls into place? It sounds an exciting city with heaps of culture, I am already excited. I have concerns and other silly questions but will save them for later on! Thank you so much for anytime that you give

welcome to indiamike

I would suggest nail down where the work is going to be. Bandra and Airoli are very far apart, and in peak traffic can be murder to commute. Besides, the Western suburbs like Bandra will have far greater options for good schools, specially expat ones which you probably won't have any of at/around Airoli.

PS: It is much preferable to live near either work or schools.
If you are far away from both, half of the family will be travelling most of the time
