Moving to Mumbai shortly
Hi to all:
I am a newbie and would like to thank all the members to helping out each other through such forums. The reason I am writing is because I am deeply thinking about movig back to India for good. I stayed in LA for 10 good years and have seen enough. I have a very stable job and do not have so much issues with slow economy. Last year when I had visited India, I bought 2 adjucent (1 BHK) apartments in Nehru Nagar, Kurla (E). I am thinking of moving there and start a new life. Here are few questions that are haunting me and I request some help from you. 1. My daughter is going in a KG class here. If I move in DEC, would she get an admission into a good school in Kurla/Chembur area. Will she have to get into KG or she would be okayed for 1st grade next year (if I will have to wait)? 2. How is the job situation in India? I am a Project Manager with 7-10 years of exp. and am not sure what salary range is offered in India at present. 3. My daughter is a US citizen and am not sure if I will have to do declare her as such while taking admission into a local school. Since me and my wife, both are Indian citizen, I guess I can still declare her as an Indian citizen. 4. How to move some of the household items without paying any custom duty ( or atleast paying minimum duty) or paying a single rupee to any corrupt officer? I would happily pay custom charges for shipping and taxes or customary fees like excise etc. 5. How much time it takes to find a job and start working? What should be the preferred location for the job search adn if any internet jobsites avaliable so that I can start applying from here when everything is sunny. I am very sorry for such a lengthy post and if you are reading upto here, really want to thank you with full heart. |

you can start searching for jobs from US only........
you said you are a Project Manager with 7-10 years of exp......... in case you are working in IT the following applies >since you are at a senior position, if everything goes fine the whole selection process takes about 3-5 weeks time depending upon you profile..... >your salary will depend a lot on technology and releveant experience........also 7-10 yrs is your total work exp or work exp as Prj Mgr? >to have stable job so that you can focus on settling down look for openings in big reputed companies
