| Finally I signed my 3 years contract for Mumbai last Friday. I will start working there at the 1st of Octobre. So now there is at least one new question. At the beginning I will have to live in a hotel. My company agreed to three months that I can live in a hotel so that I have enough time to find a flat and ship my belongings. Anyway: Monthly budget for the hotel is USD 3.000. Any recommendation for the western suburbs (Bandra, Andheri, Juhu,...)? Great would be a kind of small appartment in a hotel, with kitchenet. |

| i know of Hotel Executive enclave in bandra west. I have never seen the hotel from inside myself, but i believe that it is supposed to be good. (based on friends who came from abroad) i think the rate is approx 4000 - 4500 which is just about at the upper limit of your budget. The location is on ambedkar road which will be perfect for you to look around for a flat from. Im sure if you stay for a long time .. they might even give you a good discount. |

Had rooms 204 and 205 (4 of us incl the kids) but 204 has the living room/bedroom attached. http://www.grandresidency.com/ I don't know the prices, but for a long stay, they may negotiate. They've got a great breakfast buffet (included in price) and now a very resonable dinner buffet. We loved their super cheap room service chicken curry and the chicken and cheese sandwiches with french fries. Hope that helps. Last edited by Renwaa; Jun 5th, 2008 at 12:29.. Reason: added more | |

![]() You could get a Huge house on rent in bandra for 30k with everything you need .Use the rest on enjoying the city. I do not think there is a single hotel with a kitchenet in mumbai. The best option is to either go for a rented place or a serviced apartmentor here

| Hi Ben, We moved to Mumbai around 6 weeks ago, and are living in a serviced apartment in Bandra (AB'S Executive Serviced Apartments), just off Hill Road. We have a one bedroom apartment, with a separate sitting room with kitchen area joined on, so you can find apartments with kitchen areas. A friend is staying at the Grand Residency Hotel and Serviced Apartments, which is v close in Bandra, and is much nicer than here. She's paying a little bit more, but the standard of the hotel/apartments is much higher than this one. Its clean, modern and very comfortable. I would say AB's is more a 3 star standard and the Grand Residency is more of a 4/5 star. The studio room shes living in (has kitchen area) costs a little more than the one bedroom apartment we are in here and does have less space. We considered moving, but space wise, for two people, we're better off here. For one person, the studio apartment is fine. They do negotiate rates also, for long term - I asked them. |

| Help... Just found this thread, I am trying to ship the contents of my house basically over to nagpur but now after reading this maybe subjecting them to a good dose of e-bay, I have a stupidly big TV which I am now wondering with the hassle of import duty charges (32.5%) according to the Insurance site & the possibility of it not working is becoming quite a headache. Also does anyone know what the paperwork situation is like to ship stuff? Many Thanks
