Question LCD TV from USA

I am moving to Mumbai from New York for long term. I want to move LCD TV from US to India because it seems LCD TVs are very expensive in India compare to US. Which brand/model will work in India? I am not worried about power as almost all TV supports 120-240HZ but not sure about NTSE v/s PAL. I want to buy and move a TV only after I am sure that it will work there. Thanks for help in advance.

Don't bring it.

You'll need a NTSE/PAL converter. If you can buy one in the US, then no problems. Getting the converter in India isn't that easy.
Good luck with your move!

Ask for Multi System TVs like those in this link Multi System LCD Televisions.

Find out if any custom duties are applicable because this might make TV too expensive to import. Ask for global warranty.

Thanks a lot guys. Multi system (modified to support PAL) are generally expensive and same price you pay for LCD in India. Anyway just picked up 52inch Sharp Aquos from Best Buy which supports both NTSE and PAL, cost only $1100. I will post my experience/findings.

Custom in India all depends on person you are dealing with. If you are moving for good, there should not be any duty. My moving company will take care of custom clearance, I am not carrying it with me on flight. I will send update next week after my move.
