Hairdresser

Can anyone suggest a decent hairdresser in Mumbai for blondes? preferably near Andheri, but am very willing to travel across the city if that's what it takes! Looking to get cut and colour (foils -assuming they are called foils over here?). Price wise I am not too concerned, in Aus I pay $AUD300 every 2 or 3 months, so around 10 000Rs, so thinking would be cheaper here anyway. If any blonde has been to a bad one please let me know which one it was, so I know where NOT to go

Thanks for your help

Hi AusE,

I had the same problem and ended up going to the salon at the Taj. They knew their stuff but were pretty expensive (can't remember the exact price) and of course the salon might not even have reopened yet. I'd recommend B:Blunt in Juhu. I got a great haircut there and talked about colour with them and they had the right blonde shades.

Hope this helps!

Try the Hyatt by the International Airport. I got a great foil there about 1yr ago. Just check it out maybe not the same but was good then. Shifted is why I didn't go back

Hi AusE ... I'm in the same boat ... please let me know how it turns out... need my nails done too.

How long have you been here for? I arrived the 19th Dec. Fell in love with it when I walked out of the airport.

Hey Honey,

Happy to report all's well with hair -cut and colour wise! Christiaan was a very nice guy who obviously deals with a lot of concerned blonde when they come to India,,and hes an Aussie AND he also gave me some advice on how to deal with Indians and getting things done..haha. They gave me some of their staff Christmas cake, even gave me the 'Merry Christmas' choc on top of my bit..so that won a few brownie points as I was a little homesick ....they did a nice job of nails there too the other day, although I think majority of other salons e.g. Enrich etc would probably do just a good a job at a quarter of the price! next year I will probably give them a diff Christmas carol cd tho so I won't be brainwashed the whole time I'm there!

Have now been here for a little over 3 months...think i was in shock for first 2 months , now a little more settled .

Hey AusE (by the way love your tag) MERRY CHRISTMAS!

My Hubby & I both felt the Christmas thing - missing family.

Thanks for the info - have been here for 1 week today.
Where are they located and how much does it cost?

Look forward to hearing from you.

inside the Grand Hyatt, Santa Cruze(E). The Hyatt has a shopping mall section, you can enter via the street/mall side, or via the hotel...I like to saunter through the hotel and check out all the amazing looking food they have laid out, esp if its breakfast time. [url="http://www.hyatt.com/hyatt/images/hotels/mumgh/MUMGH_GeorgioMenu.pdf"] remember to add taxes tho!!

Enrich salons are located all over http://www.enrichsalon.com/ and you also have Lakme http://www.lakmebeautysalon.in/, so depends where you're staying. You guys have moved here?

and MERRY CHRISTMAS to you both. Where are you living, we will have to organise a meetup

They warned me about Holi 'please don't get it in your hair it will be impossible to get out' festival...and told me to wear a swimming cap if I went out?!

Oh yes, come to think of it, that would make sense!! The colors used for holi are very strong. I got some purple and orange powders on a tshirt and it never came out - even when I put spot treatment on it. I can imagine it would have the same affect on hair. Good advice!

Hi Aus E - so glad your hair turned out ok! It's seems a bit silly in the scheme of things but this has been one of my personal concerns! Ive been wondering how and where I'm going to get my hair cut, coloured and buy my salon shampoos but am feeling very reassured by all of these posts!

Aus E - thanks for replying to my thread in the expat forum - i''m going to send you a proper to reply on that thread
