Flatmates in Mumbai- where do I look?

Hi All,

I have a friend who needless to say is a little unorganised and he has just arrived in Mumbai to work (acting)which is lined up. He was planning on staying at the YMCA in Colaba for his first few months until some money rolls in, however there is a 2 month waiting list for the semi perm accom there for people working in Mumbai.

He is looking for cheap but not totally nasty accom for long term, can anyone recommend somewhere and or where is the best place to look for flatmates and share accom?

He is a fun loving Aussie guy, with Indian parents and of course I think he is fun to hang out with as he is my mate.

I am here applying for work so am in a hotel with him at the moment but leaving Bombay for Goa on Wed and it would be nice if there was some solution - short notice I know but good ole India Mike was the only place I could think of and this info might be worthwhile for me when i come back in Nov to start work.

you can look on the bombay expats yahoo group - there are always foreigners there looking for roommates or needing someone to find a place with them to lower the rent. but typically most places are located in bandra area

i'm a 22-year-old American female who is moving to Mumbai on September 20 and also looking to share a flat for long term (one year). your friend and i could share if he's still looking. i will be looking in breach candy, bandra, and other areas in south mumbai.
