Flatmate Wanted!

I'm a 22-year-old American female who is moving to Mumbai for one year starting September 20. I'm looking to share a place with one or more young people, preferably female, in Bandra, Breach Candy, Kemps Corner, Gowali Tank, Tardeo, and am open to other options. No pets. Please let me know if you're interested! My budget is up to about 15k each.

Please let us know about all the unwanted nuisance PMs you get from the guys who join the site just to pester the women --- and we'll close their accounts.

Hope you find your flatmate --- and that you enjoy our site

Some guys join just to send them, many never even post.

We know that all your Hello; would you like to be my friend? PMs are reserved for snakes, fish and crocodiles on the site, so no worries! No, of course I didn't mean you

My bad. Got a little confused when I saw she was interested in living in Breach Candy.
Rs 15000 will not get you much in Breach Candy.

My parents live in Bandra (West) - I live near Philadelphia. Which NGO are you working for? My mom graduated from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences and was on the board of the Nagpada Neighborhood House.

The price of real estate in Bombay is comparable to major cities in US (New York, San Francisco) so market rents per square foot will be comparable. If you are looking for a good deal, you can sometimes sublet a room with an older lady who lives alone but generally that will not be a place to party or entertain friends late at night and they may not even advertise. Think about what you will get to share in San Francisco for $375 and you will probably get that in Bombay.

and lets not forget the 12 months advance erent that most landlords collect as deposit. anither member has recently pointed out here that even if you are willing pay the money, keep in mind that the landlord will return the money to you, not in dollars, but in rupees.

Hi Katia,

I know you prefer female flatmate...I’m male…
However, I'm moving next week to Mumbai and looking for a place, same areas same price.
If you're still looking for a flatmate, we can maybe introduce ourself and meet up as soon as I get to Mumbai.
I'm 24, I graduated in Arts Administration in Milan and worked at Bam.org in New York. I'm moving to Mumbai to research on the contemporary art scene. I’ll travel back and forth between Milan and Mumbai until February/March in order to complete my research and I don’t know yet my next steps.

let me know…

Dario
