Dentist in Mumbai- urgent??
Hi all,
I need to find a good reliable dentist in Mumbai as soon as possible. I have a fake front tooth which is attached to the two teeth next to it. Well, was attached, I should say, because after 10 years of loyal duty (the dentist back then said I would probably have to get it replaced after five years) the whole thing came out a few minutes ago after biting into a frozen Cadbury bar too enthousiastically. I think all that need to be done is to glue the "device" back to the two teeth, but I don't know. That is what I hope basically. So does anyone of you know a good reliable dentist that I could go to? I have no idea where to start searching, and am quite afraid of going, I must admit. Help, please! |

oh poor you. The same thing happened to my partner in April in Mumbai. He decided to wait till we got home though.
Got this for you: :: Thakur Dental Clinic Clinic: 26491219 Res: 26059392 A friend of mine recommends her. She's probably not open this time of the night, though. It's in Santacruz West, just by the market and the station. above Modern Sweet Mart, Station Road Good luck. Britta

Thank your for your reply! I will call them tomorrow see if they are open. I did some googling to and found a few fancy websites. I don't know if that is any criterium to go by.. but I do want this fixed as soon as possible.
I found Dentzz (Lokhandwala and Peddar Rd), Dr. Turner's (Bandra), Chicago Centre for An=dvanced Dental Care (Prabhadevi). Learned something about myself too while selecting the Google results: apparently I have more confidence in Dental centres with English names than with Hindi names... Not a nice discovery I found... But thanks a lot, I will call Thakurs first thing in the morning! |

Hi Sanna,
So your crown came out, if I understood you correctly? Unpleasant, but if the same one can be glued back in it's no big operation. I wouldn't worry. I happen to know that this dentist did a new crown for my friend, and he's a regular client of hers, so she can't be too bad, whatever the name of the clinic I have seen the front of the house. It's not glamorous, but don't let that scare you of.My friend is a local, but I'd be very surprised if you experience language problems. Let me know what you decided to do and how it went. There must be thousands of dentists in Mumbai and I hope you find the one that works the best for you. Again, best of luck. Britta |

Thanks so much Briped!
I called a couple of dentists this morning to see whether they could help me today. Some had wrong numbers posted on the websites, or didn't pick the phone ((including your tip), and one had a Bon Jovi caller tune, which put me off. I guess many are not working Saturdays generally or this Saturday, as it is the 3rd Sat of the month. Some could only help me next week or today in the evening. Eventually the Chicago Centre turned out to be the one that could help me the soonest and was also the closest to my home, so I went there. They re-glued the crown/bridge (I don't know what it is called in English) back, it took ages to get it right, but I think it is okay now. It looks as if the position is a tiny bit different than it was before, but I am happy with it. It will have to be there for four months, after that I will be back home and can go to my own dentist. The Chicago- people were very professional and friendly, although I got the feeling that the doctor helping me got a bit impatient after a while, when I kept saying that it was not 100% right yet. (My lower teeth were touching it.) She kept going adjusting and taking the extra cement off, until I was satisfied. So no complaints from me! It was not too expensive either: Rs 1000 for over an hours work. I am incredibly relieved! |

HI,
I HAD PERSONAL EXPERIENCE OF IT SO I AM SUGGESTING YOU, NOT FOR THE EXPENSES BUT SERVICEWISE ITS BEST. DONT THINK THAT ITS CHEAP SO NOT GOOD. BUT YOU SHOULD VISIT DENTAL COLLEGE AT KHARGHAR NAVI MUMBAI. ITS FAR BUT I SUGGEST YOU SHOULD GO THERE. YOU CAN GO TO ANY WORKING DAY THERE AND IT STARTS EARLY MORNING TILL I THINK 4-00 PM. ITS LIKE THIS, UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF PROFESSIONAL DOCTOR, DENTAL STUDENTS LEARNS FROM THEM WHEN THEY TREAT YOU. REGARDS, SHAILESH Quote:

Mod Note: Shailesh can you post in this size type without capitals throughout, please.
Whilst Sanna has had her tooth already fixed, your post is useful information here, Shailesh. Good to hear all fixed, Sanna!
