Contact lense solution for Gas Permeable Rigid/Hard Contact Lenses

I visited a dozen shops now, but so far I'm not able to find Contact Lens Solution for Gas Permeable (Hard/Rigid) Contact Lenses. Anyone any tips on where to find this?
Thanks.

Have you tried any of the Bausch + Lomb stores!?

If not, please try searching an address by clicking here.

I am under impression, you may find it there!

Hey guys, thanks for the help.

In the meantime I kept stepping in to each and every store I saw and I found three different types now (though not yet the one I used in Delhi).

For future reference I'll list the stores.
1) at GKB Opticals in Santacruz-W. They had the brand GP Plus - Silklenscare
2) at Vision 2020 in Bandra-W. They had Flexilens GP-MPS and Consol GP.

@ Prakaant: Thank you. The B+L solution I could find so far was only for soft lenses (called Renu). The website does have a great list of optians though!

Okay...the three solutions I found are all of the type that you cannot use to put your contact lenses back in again. You have to clean it first with water or so.

(One bottle says: do not apply to eye directly AND do not rinse lenses with water, so that's rather puzzling in terms of how you should put your lenses back in after cleaning it with that solution...)

What I am still looking for is an All-in-One solution (like the one I once found in Delhi and was called Total Plus 1). Anyone who uses this and can tell me where they get their stuff?

Try MPS RPG ... it is the alternative to Total ... and half the price for double the quantity ... in Hyderabad, most optical shops carry it ...

Thank you, Traveller_from_Hyderabad. I kept asking in all shops I passed by over the past days, but have never seen this bottle yet. In case any forum-member knows where to buy it in Bombay, do let me know.

I did now found a new one: "Flexilens Lens plus + Multipurpose". Strangely enough it is for all types of lenses (hard, soft and GP) and that makes me distrust it a little. But for now it is better than the other ones I found before and it doesn't hurt when I put it on my lens before I insert it in my eye. I found it in a shop on the corner of Pali Mala Rd and BR Ambedkar Rd.

Since you have visited a lot of opticians - I had a related question. Have you seen "Saline Solution" for contact lens anywhere? Something like this - http://www.armandhammer.com/siteimag...b88fa847f0.png

I have checked at a lot of places but have never found it.

It's just saline solution for washing the lens (as an alternative to using water for washing the lens). I assume it could be used for any type of lens.

RGP solution - you could try speciality eye hospitals. I usually get mine from the Contact Lens Centre at Babulnath, opposite Bhavan's College. They have a solution called One Step GP. I've used Flexilens before as well and I'm pretty sure they have a variant that's for RGPs only. Haven't seen it in Bombay, though. You might want to ask at the medical supplies shops on Princess Street for leads.

As for saline, just ask at any chemist's for Normal Saline or NS. It comes in 100ml and 300 ml (I think) bottles.

How do you manage with RGPs in the dust and pollution of Bombay, by the way? I'm assuming you wear large-diameter lenses. The small ones used to give me hell.

Had smaller ones, and now larger ones. But changed only because I had trouble at night time with halos, not because of the dust. In any case I don't find Bombay too dusty. I live on the good side of town, I guess. But what I do whenever I am outside is put huge sunglasses on. Mostly because the light is too bright (and hurts more when you wear lenses I guess, partly because it gives me more "privacy" (less people staring directly in my blue eyes), and partly because of possible dust... Works perfect. In North India I found RGP lenses a pain, and impossible to wear them, no matter how giantic my glasses, esp. in summer (and also because I used to cycle there). There I used to switch to glasses. But in Bombay, I like the hard lenses better than the soft ones - never dry eyes because of heat and airco. :-)

Right. I think my problem was mainly eyelid interaction with the lens, which meant even the slightest amount of dust would set me off. Much better with larger diameter lenses. Even so, dark glasses are a must-have at all times, I've found, like you say.
