Christmas
This may seem like an odd question and I did do a search to no avail... As its going to be my first Christmas in India I want to set up a little tree so I have something sparkly to look at if I get homesick...but I haven't seen too much Christmas stuff around -I THINK I saw some decorations the other day? So where can I buy a Christmas tree from(artificial or real, maybe real is better)?? Are they around and I just haven't had my eyes peeled enough?

I saw a bunch of Christmas decorations at Hypercity the other day. I don't know about trees, though.

Thanks glimmer, I am thinking it WAS Hypercity where I saw some decorations the other week, will go and see if they have a tree. If all else fails in will decorate a pot plant!

I remember from last year the Christmas stuff isn't available till right before Christmas. Last week Hypercity had some decorations, but no trees yet. However, we did buy our tree there last year, so I do expect them to come in closer to Christmas. I don't know where in Mumbai you live, but last year I found some nice decorations in Bandra, especially the store called Something Special, I think that is on Hill Rd.

As it gets close to Christmas you'll see lots of decorations in the big malls like InOrbit etc... and Bandra gets very pretty and glittery everywhere with the large Christian population there. Nice at night... you will not feel too homesick I'm sure. I was very surprised last year... it's very like an Aussie Christmas actually... being so hot an' all

just to update in case anyone was looking for a tree....found a nice one at the Bombay Store (of all places), was 1300Rs..except it only has 1 present underneath it as my mum told everyone not to send anything over incase the terrorists track me down
she still swears by some media report that says 40 of them came down by train ![]() |
