Bored in Goregaon - Help!
Join Date: Dec 2008
Location: Mumbai Posts: 2 Smile Bored in Goregaon - Help! Hello! I am living in Goregaon East right now, where my boyfriend is working. We are staying in a very isolated area, and there is nothing within walking distance of the flat. I have tried volunteering at a few places, but one was in Thane (too far) and the other really gave me a bad feeling. ( I was asked for money repeatedly by the staff - for dresses and shoes for them and not the children!) Other places have told me I need a 3 month commitment, but I am only here until Feb 1. I am interested in yoga as well, but I cannot seem to find a good one in the Goregaon area. As my boyfriend is working on a project 7 days a week, I am getting pretty lonely too! Seeing as Colaba is 2 hours from the flat, I find myself going to the mall and walking around our neighbourhood - not like me at all! Normally I love adventure and am very independent -anyone have any suggestions for me? I can take rickshaws or taxis - or even the train to Colaba. I am interested in volunteering casually, any clubs or activities, and yoga. Thanks in advance! Cheers - Jess |

Hi,
You can do jogging on Juhu beach daily morning. You can join Iyengar Yoga Institute at Santacruz. I am member of Juhu Millenium Club and do exercise and swimming in the evening. If you wish you can join me as guest over there. Its one the fabulous and nice place to spend quality time. You can do a lot of activities in Mumbai. You can join some NGO and volunteer for some activities. It all depends upon your interest and what you want to do in life. Send me email at tigersach@gmail.com and I can share some more after understanding your interest. Quote:

You are right. It is not BKS Iyengar Yoga Institute but by Swami Yogendraji. I heard this institute is also one of the best one at par with BKS Yoga Institutes.

Hi Jesse - I'm here visiting my boyfriend too. I'm in Andheri West which isn't a million miles away. If you PM me I'm happy to meet up and do some exploring of the city.
Last time I was here I did the one month Teacher Training at the Yoga Institute and it was fantastic. I met some great people and the course was really interesting and well-run. It's a short walk from Santa Cruz station so would be easy for you to get to. GeeGee |
