Hallo everyone,
I (f, 31) moved to Mumbai recently for work reasons and am going to be here for at least a year. To have some fun and avoid loneliness, I would like to meet nice people and make new friends - Can anyone give me a recommendation, where I could go for that? Or are you in the same situation and would like to go out for a drink? Please respond!!

Hi Manu,

Welcome to Mumbai. I would advise you to be little cautious in seeking open friendship as you have recently moved to India. Its better to know the person well and then carry on. However, I can forward you a safe reference in Mumbai. My friend Deepak 28 Years, a Banker working in a multinational Bank might be happy to hear from you. You may get in touch with him on 9920029196. You may refer my name when yo speak to him. He is responsible , knowledgeable and fun loving guy but safe to be friends with since you are new.

Best wishes, Raghu

Hi Jitu,

Its up to the person to find out if my friend is safe is or not. As manu posted an innocent question , I wanted to give a safe reference thats all. I am going to be in this forum for a long time to come and anybody can come back to me if my references are faulty.

Raghu

Hey folks
thanks for your advices, certainly I'll keep that all in mind. However, I'm not doing this whole expat-thing the first time in my life - it's actually the 4th time for me. But if someone has an advice where I can meet people, I'd be more than happy because I'd like to avoid feeling lonely from the beginning on...
By the way, can someone recommend a supermarket where I could buy fresh meat, sausages and stuff like this?

Reminds me of this apparently popular site: http://mumbai.burrp.com/ . They cover a number of Indian cities I think, see bottom of their homepage.

Been in mumbai for around 2 years and I loved how Sam_ester put it

"sam_ester Mumbai doesnt give you the 'Luxury' to be Lonely. "

Drop a pm if you travell to pune in this year, We might atleast have a Pune meetup on that occasion else could catch up for a coffee

Hallo Manu :-)

Hi Manu

Welcome !!!
There are many good supermakets around in Mumbai. But to suggest the closest , it would be good if u let me know the exact location of u r stay. Mostly the 'Big Bazaar' retail chains is located at many places in the city...Hopefully one could be nearer to u r place of stay...

On a personal note,i am also looking out for some good friends...
I could be reachable on my mail id rake_is_here@yahoo.com
It would be my pleasure , if you can consider me as a friend...
Please let me know your interest via my mail id, so i can give u more information about myself...

Thanks !!!

Regards
RK
