For someone who has decided to move to Mumbai, here's an excellent road book of Mumbai, just as useful/good as the A to Z is for London.

Titled Mumbai City Map, just over 180 pages, published by Eicher Goodearth Ltd, New Delhi 2006 Edition. Printed by Brijbasi Art Press New Delhi Price R250 ($6 Canadian, 3 pounds).

Similar book road maps are also available for Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore. (To be also printed City maps Kolkata).

Easy to use, handy,(same size as Reader's Digest). Covers suburbs, detail right down to house numbers.

Great publications. But the India Road Atlas is a disapointment. If only they'd made the format four times the size it might have been good

For map buffs: the Survey of India office is on Janpath in Delhi. It is across the road from the Central Cottage Industries Emporium building. Here you can get all sorts of reliable maps - including historical maps, city maps, district maps and a very large detailed map of Delhi that you can hang up.
