in Kolkata for Higher Studies.

In U.S. try to contact your nearest Indian Mission

Jadavpur University, Rabindra Bharati university
etc, Hope you will find one.

I've tried contacting university of calcutta, jadavpur, and some others but have recieved no reply. Or the email comes back undeliverable. and I can't call the phone number on my cell phone. The websites don't seem to have study abroad/international students sections so how should i go about doing this?

by the way, thank you all so much for your responses! It gives me hope!

Do your preliminary research, checkout this link Indian Educational Portal and find out more information about colleges in Calcutta and then contact this agency Your Man in India for assistance maybe they will be able to help you with admissions; they have a contact number in USA.

Looks like there is a good business opportunity here, once I return to India I will think about starting a service for foreign students who would like to study in India.

I studied abroad in Kolkata as an undergrad with the International Partnership for Service-Learning and Leadership (http://www.ipsl.org/). I'm not crazy about the program itself but it does provide a great opportunity to live with a family, work at one of the many NGOs in the city, and take classes.

I've contacted Visva bharati by email and I've ordered a service from man in india. That site is reliable, right?

thank you for your help. I hope everything works out. It is amazing how difficult this is proving to be.

ISN, you seem to be very knowledgable on this subject and, in general, india. Are you living in India at the moment?
