Traveling W/ Indians
My hubby is currently living in Bombay. After he comes back and gets us (his family) from the states we will be moving to Hyderabad. He will then get in touch with his current maid/cook and will have her move to Hyderabad to join us. She is 20 and has barely been out of her neighborhood. She lives on the edge of one of the slums with her large extended family. Anyway I was wondering does she need any documents to travel on the train, or airplane between Bombay and Hyderabad. Her fiance miht come also.
Thanks Peregrine |

No documents, though it is wise to carry some identification on a flight.
Taking a young girl as household help to another city has some obvious disadvantages. In this case, the fiance is an additional complication- wonder if her parents, or his, know. |

She has gotten permission from her mother and wants her fiance to be groundskeeper. Although I do not think we will have very much ground to keep.

If she has any id, better to carry it anyway.
Who knows what she might need it for. Bank account, for one. |

officially no document is required to travel within India...in Airlines or in case of e-ticket in trains it is needed just to establish that the person is who he/she is claiming to be..
But yes, if you are making her move with you, it would be advisable for her to carry or ID proofs and other relevant documents.. |
