I'm currently considering a job opportunity in Hyderabad and wanted to hear from those of you who are currently out there on what single life is like there.
- Is it easy to meet people and have a social life? - What's there to do within Hyderdabad for fun/entertainment? Thanks in advance! |

...Start from your office...and there are a lot of expats living here and enjoying too ![]() Hyderabad is a hub of activity, depends on what your idea of fun/entertainment is . Movies? Gourmet? Golf? Swimming? Racing? Clubbing? Disco? |

welcome to IM, many expats live in Hyderabad and don need to feel isolated. You can join with other expats at www.hytea.org. For fun and entertainment, you have a choice of clubs, disco's, bar and restaurants, resorts etc etc.

Skip the expats and hang out with locals. That was my rule of thumb. Met only one, who came to me with a problem, in several years. However, in distant memory I met one who had moved there in the 1930's and stayed, remarkable woman. I wished I had written something on her. But, I respected her desire for privacy. Otherwise, be open to connections and impromptu invitations and things will happen. Hyderabad/Secunderabad is a great town..

Hmmm....good and bad
Hi TxTravels,
I have heard some mixed reviews about expat single life in Hyderbad....a friend of mine absolutely HATED it and another acquaintance that I know, LOVED it...in fact, she happened to meet her future husband there. Net, with the risk of regurgitating a cliche...it's all what you make of it and what kind of person you are. From what I have heard, you need to make more of an effort in Hyderbad to be social...whereas in Mumbai, not much effort is required. I would not mind providing a few people's email addresses and introductions, but could you tell me a bit more about yourself...where are you from, how long will this job opp be, etc?? Hope all is well - and best of luck! ![]() |
