SD Flash Card for Camera

Hi everyone -

I arrived in Hyderabad on Sunday and my SD Flash Card for my camera suddenly broke. Does anyone know where I can buy one that would be compatible with my Cannon SD 1000?

Thanks!!
Lauren

There are many outlets now selling CF & SD cards. Admittedly, I was in Jaisalmer, not Hyderabad, but these items are now very common around most of India's tourist hot-spots.

Your camera should be able to use a 4Gb card without problem. The price should be around the Rs.1500 (AU$50) mark.

When you say your card "broke", do you mean physically or, it just won't store images ? Many cards have a 5+ year warranty, so you may want to keep it (especially if you have images on it) as some companies (Sandisk for one) will recover photos at no cost if the card is indeed defunct and it's due to hardware failure.

Cheers
Zoltan

sd cards are available everywhere - all the little tourist booths sell 'em.

NB - sd is an international standard - not a Canon proprietary line. Most new cameras use sd (secure digital) cards - so they're very common and available.

I saw them available years ago in a camera shop in Hyderabad. Go to one in a posh area and I am sure you will find such..

Get a class 6 SDHC card, price for a 4GB one would be approximately Rs. 600.
