Relocating to hyderabad

What's up?

I've been reading these for a long time.

Here is the 411

I am 21 years old, have one more year until I get my bachelor of commerce degree. specializing in marketing and international business.

I want to live in hyderabad, but im having trouble finding a job. where to begin? where to apply? would it be hard for a fresh graduate with 3 years experiecne in marketing (while studying) to get a job? I want to have a comfortable lifestyle pref. 1,00,000RS a month or something.is this a pipe dream?

What if I forgo my final year and just go to hyderabad now? would i be able to get a decent job?

How much salary is required for house car petrol, living expenses?

Please help

Are you of Indian origin?
I dont think a fresh graduate (not a specialist engineering stream or a MBA ) would get anywhere near 100000. For cushy marketing jobs an MBA is a must. A fresh B.Com from a top college will earn maximum 15000 rupees a month.

I am sorry to disappoint you, but Rs. 100,000 is impossible with the experience you have. And it is not really necessary to earn that much to live a nice lifestyle in Hyderabad, especially if you are alone.

And just curious, why do you want to live in Hyderabad so badly?

Yes, it's a pipe dream.

But you can have a comfortable life on much less than that.

I knew it would be a pipe dream. What salary would I need to get have a comfortable living. nice house car incl.

Where can I start job hunting? Anyone got connections?

I tried monster and naukri. I saw some jobs that give 100,000 rs a month for someone with 3 yrs experience.

My parents are hyderabadi, I thought theyd jump on CDN grads?

Personal reasons dictate me to be in hyderabad

True, but you have not graduated yet

Your ID suggests that you are not happy at U of T (I did my Ph.D. experimental work there and spent many years - also went to The Stick Wicket & Madison Avenue Pubs - got invited to the latter's' "employees & guests only" Christmas party one year - reward for being a regular!!

Please finish up the last year, and then think of going to Hyd.

Cheers

AHAHA, UOFT is a pain. I transferred out to Ryerson University.

Thing is, I will be done in December or April, and I like planning in advance.

GOOGLE is hiring adwords representatives, I wonder how much the pay is.

The jobs that give 100000 a month with three years experience are for MBAs from top B-schools and not those with bachelors degree.
your three years.... were they full time employment as an executive? Otherwise they will not be given much value.

you will get a much better deal if you work for 1-2 years after your graduation and then get a job in hyderabad. At present you may be considered at par with Indian non-engineer graduates.
A FRESHER non-engineer graduate will not earn enough to afford a nice-house and car lifestyle in a metro.
The rent of a 2 bedroom decent flat(unfurnished)in a locality like madhapur, kondapur or gachibowli will be around 12000. A compact car will have EMI of 4000-5000 per month +petrol and maintainance which can be another 2000 at least.

It depends on what you define as comfortable life. look into my above estimates of flat rent and minimum cost of ownership of car.
Add utilities - about 1000 to 2000 - if you run AC etc..... broadband - 500 to 1000.....
cellphone - depends on usage
food - about 2000 to 3000 for indian meals cooked at home..... much more if you go out to eat often......
it depends on the standard of living you want to maintain..... but I would be surprised if it can be done below 25000 to 30000 a month.

1.You can post your resume in naukri.com or monster.com.

2.If you have relatives in hyderabad, ask them to give you contact numbers of young people(may be their friends children)who work in companies in hyderabad.

trying to get a job in India 'blind' like this is a pain. Naukri, monster, timesjobs, etc are good resources, but remember that any good job posted here is going to recieve thousands of responses, the employer will not be able to even look at all the cvs they get. I have applied to hundreds of jobs on these sites and only expect a response to maybe 10% of them. The only way to get a good job, especially if you do not live in India and dont have experience is to have contacts. Both the jobs I have had in India came through knowing someone who knew someone who was looking to hire someone.

Ask people you know in Hyd, or perhaps get a recruitment company to work for you, if you have the money for it.

Hopefully we will see you in Hyd next year then!

I kind of figured. Does anyone have leads?

What sort of monthly salary would entail a comfortable leaving for a married couple?
