Question Let's make this ANY for MANY - Returns

Hi All,

Definitely like this form suggest, I am one from many who are looking for some basic information, when moving back to Hyderabad. Let’s share information from each and every aspect. Suggest Average (not too high/low) options which might be useful for many.

Top of the list.

• Housing (affordable & friendly, Avg rent Rs 7000 to 12000 per month/2 BD RM)
• Medical Care (Internal medicine/Pediatrics etc. with abroad experience/visit)
• School (from Good to Average/affordable standard)
• Food (Restaurants, Bakery etc)
• Fun (Family parks etc)
• Games (Hangouts…)
• Theatres

Please add any useful or missing info.

Request those who moved back (from Australia,USA,UK,Dubai and more) to Hyderabad for quite some time, to share their experience.

Answering the post though I am not an abroad returnee

Housing (affordable & friendly, Avg rent Rs 7000 to 12000 per month/2 BD RM)

You will have to budget housing depending on where you want to live. 12000 for a 2BD flat may not be enough if you want to live in a nice part of jubilee hills (or even kondapur these days)
15000 for a two bedroom flat may be a better avaerage(unfurnished and no AC).

• Medical Care (Internal medicine/Pediatrics etc. with abroad experience/visit)

lots of hospitals like Apollo, care, yashoda, wockhart. A consultation with a specialist will not cost you more than Rs 300 to 500. For any major surgery/ hospital stay you can opt for medical insurance. medical insurance is progressively difficult to get as you grow older, so start your policy as soon as possible. usually to coverage is upto rs 200000 per person per year.

• School (from Good to Average/affordable standard)
no idea

• Food (Restaurants, Bakery etc)
Depends on the restaurants. A meal can cost Rs 100 to any amount. In a medium budget non 5-star restaurant(ex - indijoes, mainland china etc) Rs 500-600 per head for a full course meal.A main dish is usually priced at Rs 200 to 300 at this kind of places.

• Fun (Family parks etc)
there is KBR park but that is mostly for walking etc. there are a number of parks around hussain sagar lake which are popular with families. entry fes will be minimal as they cater to all socio economic groups.

• Games (Hangouts…)
Do you mean hangouts for yourselves - like pubs etc?

• Theatres
Multiplex theatres like PVR and IMAX charge about rs 100 a ticket.

Thanks Nayan,Aishah for the response. Did go through some of the post before i post my request and found some answers. But either those were aimed too high or in other direction.

Got some idea about the Housing,Food and Theatre. In some countries insurance which is covered by the employer is affordable. Buying the private insurance can cost how much in Hyderabad ? when affordable,If anyone wants to buy medical insurance how do they start ?

Any comments on good schools please ?

In India health insurance covered by the employer means the employer pays the premium. you donot incur any charge. This usually covers your immidiet family(you, spouse, upto 2 kids). But all companies may not provide this facility.

In case of medical insurance purchased on your own the premium largely depends on your age. look at the link below(it gives the figure per year)
http://www.niacl.com/calcis/indmed1.asp
Most insurance companies have similar premiums and conditions.

welcome to india and hyderbad.

well i am staying in hyderabad from last5 years since i shifted from mumbai.i am well aware about the city and try to answer your questions in red color.

• Housing (affordable & friendly, Avg rent Rs 7000 to 12000 per month/2 BD RM)

you will not get 2bed room house less than 12,000 if you want in good condition with all amenities and in the popular locations. but well you can get in 10,000 INR in places like sikh village and bowenpally where many exparts stay with family. and its centraly located and well connected. but if you want house in banjara hills or ,madhopur then the price goes to 15000 to 20,000 or more.• Medical Care (Internal medicine/Pediatrics etc. with abroad experience/visit)
mediccal wise you will get good hospitals all arround city, apollo, yashoda, rainbow for kids and care hospital are recommendable.

Mod Note: Ashish - your post is very helpful for OP, but we try to encourage members not to use colour on their posts. (Except for blue moderation notes! It will take me too long to edit your post and put the colour out, so can you please not use it again. Keep your posts only in normal size, black type, please. We can all understand perfectly well where your answers are, just the same.

...It's a question of getting used to the site's quoting method.

You can just hot the QUOTE button, and you'll get the whole post in a block. You'll see it is defined by
and (the text goes in between)
You can divide the post you are answering into individual points, and edit out the text that is not relevant, by using the same tags. You can type them in, or you can highlight a block of text and click on the speech-bubble icon which will add them.
