Hyderabad Decan or Scunderabad Junction?

Though Hyderabad is a way superior city to Secunderabad, then why the Secunderabad station has an upper hand over Hyderabad (nampally) station.

Why don't most of the trains terminate/orginate at Hyderabad Decan and insted run from Secunderabad which is very far.

It is one continuous city. Secunderabad used to be just a cantonement long ago (British and later) - and I for one dont think Hyd is superior.

The stations are not more than eight or ten kilometers apart anyway.

Trains everywhere are being made to terminate at different stations to ease congestion. Hyderabad has 3 'main' stations, and so do many other cities. (and more)

Because Nampally is a terminating station, this restricts services severely, Nampally can only handle a certain number of trains.

Do you think it would be possible (physically, politically and financially) to run lined south from Nampally to connect up with other southbound lines south of Kacheguda?

Physically may be a big problem. Really congested parts of the city.

Money may be too-is it worthwhile?

Politically, cant see a problem.

I wonder if a double track tunnel (going south from Nampally) would be viable.

And would it really allow for more trains to go to Nampally, the line from Secunderabad to Nampally is only double track, so i wonder if it's running close to capacity?? (I doubt it)

That line is also shared with the MMTS (local) service- its near the lake.

The MMTS is slowly picking up, as the city goes haywire
