accommodation in Hyderabad
Sorry for the second request thread!
Also, does anyone know anything about paying guests in Hyderabad? I think this would be a good way to help me understand living in Hyderabad. How do I go about this? Would I find an affordable one in the western part of the city? Does anyone recommend a particularly friendly one?! Thanks a lot |

Welcome to the site, weens.
I've been to Hyderabad twice in the past year on business, and it's a great place, but can be a bit overwhelming for the first few days. In my search for accommodation I did come across some furnished apartments out on the west side of the city. I now stay at Yatri Nivas. It's central, clean, reasonable and has a couple of decent restaurants which are frequented by Indian families and businessmen. The IndiaMike members there are very friendly and they have meetups every few months. |

Hyderabad does not have a great paying guest culture. Many people known to each other share apartments, though.
Rentals and others are advertised in the weekend edition of the Deccan Chronicle newspaper more than anywhere else, I think.

Cheers Hal. I had a look at Yatri Navis online, you say it is central but the one I came across is in Secunderabad? Do you think that matters, or is everything fairly accessible anyway?

I will check out the Deccan Chronicle when I am there, thanks. I have seen people talking about it elsewhere.

Yes, It's in Secunderabad, north of the lake. Hyderabad is so big that I guess I consider that to be central. If you are working in a specific area it may be best to live nearby because traffic is heavy and travel can be slow.

Hello
Quote:
Secunderabad is central if your work place or area of research is in that part of town. If your workplace is in old city or Hyderabad side then you may consider staying in other areas. Hyderabad is a wonderful place with nice people and pretty safe too. (I am a bit biased as it is my home town ![]() Cheers, Harsha |
