Hi Weens.
I just do not know, what is happening here, my thought is that Susheel has been promoted and then do not drive so much any more, but if this is the fact, I am very dissapointed that he did not tell us on the phone, when we told him about you wanting him as a driver. Maybe you should try another company and ask for an english speaking driver, I know it is not allways that easy.
It is quite expencive to call India here from Denmark, but this Sunday we are leaving for Bangkok/Cambodia, we normally buy a lokal card, we will then try to call him and ask what all this is about, if he does not drive any more, we not going to recomend him.
We have had a lot of drivers like the one you describe, that is why we were so pleased with Susheel.
You will not find any taxis in India with safety belts.
Hope this is not going to put you off India, have a nice steay anyway.
Will post here if we get in contact with Susheel. Kirsten

Hi again Wreens.

We are now back from our vacation, must confess that I have not been trying to get in contact with Susheel.
We did run into a few problems on this trip, had planned to use driver and guide recommended on another forum, but that did not work out as expected, and beeing 5 people agreeing on walking right or left took out a lot of my energi.
Hope you are having a good time with or without Susheel.

reards Kirsten

Forgot to mention this.
I think the problem is that we did book for full days, so he did not do any other driving.
When you book him for shorter trips at a certain time, I do not expect him to be allowed to sit around and wait for this tour, if there is another trip to de done.
At least that is what I hope is the problem

Rs. 1,200 for 8 hours and 80 kilometres in Hyderabad is considered to be on the expensive side for an air-conditioned Tata Indica vehicle - this rate is charged by the higher end cab operators like Air Travels where you get new vehicles with english speaking uniformed drivers. Vehicles are available even at Rs. 800. On the whole, drivers in Hyderabad are nice human beings (exceptions to rules exist everywhere) and all of them have their own mobiles on whiuch they can be kept in touch with.
