Renting a house in Goa?

Hey Guys,

I am interested in renting a house in Goa for 6 months. I would like to find a place near Palolem but im open to other places. I guess my questions, are:

1) what's an average price per month for a 2 or 3 bedroom place. Since there probably is a huge difference between nice places and cheaper more run down places. I dont mind something mid to lower end of the scale.

2) are there any good websites out there with listings? And i imagine those places online are probably a lot higher. So would it be better to just look when i get there?

3) what time do most of the long term renters start showing up? Oct/Nov?

4) how much does it cost to rent a cheap car per month?

1) Position has more effect on price than condition, nearer the beach is dearest. Noise pollution (busy roads, heavily peopled areas, nearby temples etc) is a major problem so check it out. Also make sure it is fully furnished as furniture is very expensive here, more than UK and its rubbish. Also check that a gas bottle is included. A fridge should be included and if you are here for 6 months a tv is nice.
Having said all that, Rs10,000 per month should get you what you want with some bargaining.
2) ALL properties on web-sites are vastly overpriced Avoid. Yes, ask aroud when you get here and look at lots of places so you get a good idea of whats what.
3) Yes.
4) Rs 10,000 is about rock bottom, allow 12-15,000 for a bit better, maybe with AC? But more expensive in Panjim.
