Hi Jackie,
Yes I would love to get in touch with your daughter. I have a 4yo boy and a 3yo girl. We look like heading over in about a month. We lived in Goa about 8 years ago and are now heading back for my husbands work. Can you give me your daughters email address so I can contact her? Thanks, V Last edited by vbcm3 : Apr 20th, 2009 at 11:20. |

We live in Goa already, my son is still too young for school but I'm starting to research options for next year. We're not far from Vasco so I'd love to hear more about this school. Thanks! |

Sorry but cannot help at the moment. My Swiss friend whose daughter has recently started at this school, is out of Goa at present. The school is on its summer holidays at the moment I think and they have gone travelling, inc Europe. Not sure when they are back, but I will be in UK for visa and till July.

Thanks....but more info needed
Hi All,
I am very glad to have come across this thread as i have been able to gleen quite a bit of useful info. Some of it is a couple of years old, so just wanted to be able to get a clearer and more uptodate idea of schooling. My wife and I, currently based in the UK, are looking to relocate to India. We are both of Indian origin, and place a great deal of importance on quality of life, and in schooling as to where we wish to settle down. Some of the schools mentioned in the thread i have looked at, but there seems to be not much info on the European School of Goa, which in theory sounds like the school that i should be sending my children to ( who are 2, 6 and 10 by the way). The school is based in Saligao, and from what i have read in other threads, is a very quite place, and we will need to head into town for taking care of such items as shopping. Is this still the case? Does anybody have any first hand experience of the European School? My other query is that of trying to gain admission with some of the schools mentioned, such as Manovikas and Shardar Mandir. My children do not have a great grasp of Hindi (again one more reason why we are keen to move to India as opposed to loose our culture completely if we stay in the UK-although i can expend effort on teaching them in some sunday school, but they will find it tough to relay any form of conversation!)and i read from the admissions pages on their website that there are indeed tests on Hindi. Does anybody have an idea about this, as it would be nice to have a bit of information about their admin process before approaching each respective school. Also, we will be looking to take on accomodation at some stage as soon as we hit Goa, preferably to rent while we get our bearings right, but i understand from some of the threads ( such as the lady who found it more ideal living in Panajim where she can shop more easily rather than fight with the bugs and creepy crawlies etc etc) that Panajim is far more appealing to residents like us who are arriving from the UK. Can please somebody help to shed a bit of light? We are also considering Delhi, but the only issue is that of the immense heat over the summer period, and we do not iwsh to move to India for the heck of having to leave every few months because we are unable to fathom the heat. It would also be nice to hear from tufty again, to get a better understanding of how you are doing. My wife and me will be planning a visit out there soon. Regards.... |
