Can't see why not I've seen some tourists travelling with their dogs in India, so why not a cat! Most countries aren't as strict about this kind of thing as the UK!!

travelling with a cat may be easier and indian may not be as strict. however, a cat is much more difficult to travel with than a dog.

cats dont like to travel, are more likely to get sick, require a more secure environment (closed rooms and windows, as an example) etc. they are also more likely to wander off.

have you considered all this?

I'm dead against subjecting animals to the ordeal of the flight --- a topic which has been discussed in several threads.

However, I know a couple of cats living here with their ex-pat British family very happily.

PLease consider what happens when (if?) you return to UK with quarantine laws...

Your veterinarian will likely know what vaccinations and paperwork your dog will need. The airline you'll be taking can tell you the cost.

Some airlines are now rejecting animals or charging accordingly after so much stink was made about in hold deaths and in cabin allergies..
