Moving to Goa with my 7 year old daughter

Moving to Goa with my daughter
Hi all!!

Im a single female and am planning to move to Goa with my 7 year old daughter for a period of 6 months. I've done a lot of research but the more I look the more confused I become. I have been to Goa once before but not as a mother and not on my own, My biggest concern is safety. I've read else were that female safety in Goa is a big worry especially concerning young girls. Obviously I wont be leaving my daughter with strangers or on her own but because it will be just the two of us I am a little worried, I would just like to ask if there is any other women out there who have traveled to Goa alone or with a daughter and how did they find it?

I would also like to ask would it be possible to put my daughter in a school for the time we are there? When do they start and how much am I looking to pay for her to be in school? Im planning on leaving mid September in order to experience some monsoon, the rain doesn't bother me, being a Londoner Im kinda use to it

One last question is I don't drive and neither do I know how to ride a motorbike would that be a huge hindrance to us?

first off you should learn to ride a moped, its not that hard, maybe few days training, and about safety, depends on what part of goa you are planning to stay, but more or less if you dont venture out late at nites iam guessing you should be fine,
good luck.
peace

Thank you Baba for the response. Im not sure what part of Goa I'll be staying at, was planning on just getting there, staying in a hotel for a week or two and then deciding. Where would you suggest?
I guess as for the safety issue its probably the same as anywhere else.
Learning to ride a moped is something I better get on with asap.
Thank you once again for taking the time to respond.

Peace and Love

Hi, Been to Goa plenty with my son since he was 4 but only for brilliant 2-3 week holidays and stayed in hotels so can't comment on safety issue for your situation. But a friend of mine has taken her 10 year old to Goa for 6 months stretches and enroled her in the little steiner school in Patnem, South Goa. She enjoyed it. www.vidyaaranya.com/aboutus.html Good luck.
