Living in Goa

Hi there
We are new to this site, we found it by chance as we are doing research in moving to Goa.
We wondered if anyone can help us at all. We have emailed the Indian Embassy for info on moving to Goa but as yet we have had no reply.

Can anyone advise us on how to get a residence visa and where to go to get the info on setting up a Business there.
I have read several of the blogs on this and other expat sites and can't seem to decipher the best people to speak to
Hope someone can help us

The government of India allows foreign nationals to set up tourism related businesses including water sports and boating but a "Tourist Fishing Business" will most likely not be allowed. The Fisheries business is a restricted one and as far as I know foreigners are not allowed. Any particular reason why you want to start this type of a business. The waters off the coast of Goa are currently not teeming with fish and Goan fishermen are having a hard time.

I guess you will have to come Goa for a possible partnership and the business viabilities, Examine the environment whether it will really worth doing such stuff here..

Do you mean a business where you yourself stock a small lake with fish and charge people to fish there?

Sorry, I don't know a lot about fishing.
