Depending on what you need it for, I'd contact my embassy first and ask them for advice depending on your situation.

So you have gone ahead with the business..................

Anyway, I have two English friends (married couple) who have established a Chiropractry practice in central Margao about two years ago, catering mainly to locals.
Due to the crass inefficiency of internet providers, they are at present not online, and have not been for a couple of months. Their blog is at http://alisonbale.wordpress.com/ if you want some good reading.
They are coming north to visit us for the weekend so will ask them if I can give you their phone number (or will ring them before if I get time when they are available to talk)
They have done the full company bit and it was, and still is, a total ongoing nightmare..............

For incorporation of a company, look for a Chartered Accountant.

Still feeling it out J5 . . .

and thanks Dehliwala, the CA route has been recommended alright. I think, as a poster put it more succintly here somewhere else, find a pro that has done it before with foreigners. You know what I mean . . .

Have had a nice referral so we'll see how it goes

The quality of lawyers and chartered accountants in Goa is not that great. Having said that, company incorporation per se is not a major intellectual exercise unless you need some tricky drafting in the M & AOA.

Mike, I am confused. Is that nice referral my friends or someone else? Like, do I need to contact them or not?

Agreed. Most lawyers in India are of not much use if you want to start a new company. They are just not up to date with the current regulations as far as incorporating a company is concerned
