1000 GBP per how long?
Per week? Per month? Per year?
If it's weekly or monthly, I imagine you'll do fine -- that's more than I make monthly in a major American city, and I'm better off than many. If you could get by comfortably on that in New York, I imagine it would go pretty far in Goa.

If it's per month, you'll live like a prince!
If it's per year you'll live like a pauper!

Sorry I presumed you all had access to my contract so would know
It's per month guys, it's less than I make back home but obviously if cost of living is much cheaper then it's going to be good.
In general terms weather, people, things to do all pretty good? in comparison to scotland I am guessing all three are better!

Depends what you call "pretty good". Personally, I prefer the weather in Scotland to that in India, and I think there are more things to do in Scotland too, especially after dark. But people are much the same wherever you go.
Good salary indeed, but itīs the monsoon that deterred me in the past and still does from living in Goa. But as one pleases.
you will be able to lead a Middle class life if you are with your family (kids) and only earning member...however if you are alone then very much upper middle class life..

You could actually SAVE money for when you get back..

Margao is only 6-7 km. from the beaches of Benaulim and Colva. I think you would prefer to stay there and commute to Margao for your job! There's plenty of apartments in Colva and Benaulim.
Margao is dirty, noisy and busy. Property prices are higher so rentals are as well. Stay outside. You can get into town in 15 minutes. Scooter is the best transport. Easy to park.
