Getting to know people in and around Calangute or other areas in Goa

Thanks so much, Birds! I hope I can find something for about $5.00/day that's decent. Is that an unrealistic amount for a hotel near a beach? You're right, I'll go slow re my dream spot. Kerala looks fabulously lush.

Yes that is what they do but it becomes expensive.

You have been given some very nice tips.
Angelina from the travel bar is VERY nice and the food is also fantastic. she is also very reasonable for travel arrangements.
I hope you settle in nicely.
