Apartments or accommodation in calangute area for 5 month stay?

Hi guys,

I know its quite a while away but i'll be in goa in january and planning to stay for about 5 months. Does anybody know of any apartments or accommodation in the calangute area at a fairly cheap price? I'll be by myself and not wanting to pay too much but im not sure of prices for a 1 bedroom apartment in calangute or near by?

Any help would be appreciated!

Robyn

Hi Robyn,

I live in Calangute too. January is still season, so you will not find anything really cheap here. As you said it is still a while away… Let me know what exactly you are looking for. There are Holiday Homes, Guest Houses, Paying Guest Accomodation… Most apartments will be expensive to rent and I think owners look more into long term rentals. Thats what we found out when we were looking for a place to rent. I am sure that there are experts here on IM who may have more info on this than I do.

Do you prefer to stay close to the beach? A quiet or a busy area? I can ask around, it all depends on your budget.

Reagrds,
Tina

Hi Tina,

Thanks for the reply. There has been a slight change since i wrote that yesterday. It will now be me and one other person looking for accommodation. We would be looking to stay in the calangute, or even baga, area. I don't mind where i stay just as long as it isn't too far out from everything. Ideally it would be in a location that is walking distance to the centre.

As for the price, i know of people sharing a 2 bedroom apartment and they are paying 16,000 per month. We'd be willing to pay that or a bit more depending on where we'd be staying. As i said, im unsure of prices so i dont know what i could get for my money, but if you are able to ask around or if you do hear of anything and can let me know then i'd greatly appreciate it.
