We plan to go to North Goa, (Calungate, Baga,Anjuna, Vagator) sometime in Aug. Would like to book a apartment for 1 week with well maintained rooms and swimming pool. Also has to be within walking distance to the beach. Also would like to hire a car for a week, Any ideas?

We are a family from Hawaii and we are moving to Goa in 2 3 weeks. We want to rent a home, and we will fix it up, and need it to be cheep since we are moving their permanently, we will make it nice ourselves, We love to remodel, paint, decorate and garden etc. We are not picky we allready LIVE in the TROPICS of Hawaii and we are not spoiled with all the needed modern amenities. We like it simple.

Also I want to add a small water pond so a yard in a must.

If the place has a pool we will pay extra!!!!

We want a yard and unique looking place!!

Also anything about goa is always interesting to know???? I am HINDU but my husband is from Micronesia and he is Philipino Mircronesian. He looks indian hehehe. I think we are willing to rent anywhere as long as the home is right!!!

I lived in MUMBAI as a child but i never been to goa. I am a photographer and that's why we are moving their. Plus their is amazing web designers etc in Mumbai for my online businesess.

Seriously though, I would personally recommend that you just do a short term let on an apartment and use the time to look around to find the place of your dreams.
Goa is very depressed this season, so prices/availability are excellent. Also, location very much governs price so you would need to look around a lot. Pool at a private house is unlikely unless you are going very up-market.
You say you are on a budget, like what?
Do you want old house with character or more modern?
Coast or countryside?
Dead quiet or a bit more bustle?

Get some more posts up so that we can PM, quite happy to get together for a chat when you get here.........could be mutual as we are looking at Philippines for the future! Also we are living here now, as opposed to a lot of advice you will get on here from Indians living in other parts of the country who have an occasional holiday here!
