What do spouses do all day?
My wife and I have been in Delhi for about two weeks. I'm working in Gurgaon and right now she's getting the flat settled. But once we have our cable and internet and houseplants, what next? She's looking for a job, of course. But does anyone here have any other ideas?
1) Are spouses volunteering? If so, where and how would she find an organization that could use her? 2) Are spouses socializing? If so, where are people meeting up? 3) Are spouses working? If so, does anyone want to hire a 29-year-old American project manager with dotcom experience? Thanks! Last edited by mmmmdave : Nov 15th, 2007 at 18:52. Reason: this sounds better |

I've often thought that the plural of spouse ought to be spice.
It's very nice not working, you know!

American project manager with Dotcom experience will be HOT in Demand...however not much in Delhi but in Southern India...
However in Delhi as well there will be lot of options, just browse through job portals like naukri.com, monsterindia.com, timesjobs.com, jobsahead.com. With some searching she would be able to land herself a handsome job, earning more than enough to live an upper middle class life by Indian Standards for the whole family ![]() That said, you must seriously look into it. |

Your spouse might want to try to contact the local Amerian Women's Club; they will have some activities and the individuals may help her find something to do while you work.

A recent study of our retirees showed they were in better health than our working staff. How much of that is due to phony claims of back pain, depression, stress, carpal tunnel, etc. I can't say. I could find a lot to do in Delhi provided transportation existed..
