short term rent in delhi

hi. i'm looking to rent an appt in the new delhi area for around 4 weeks at some point between the beginning of sept and end of oct. what would be the best way to do this? through an individual or through an agency? where should i look? i'm looking for a decent place but nothing amazing (a studio or one bedroom appt) with air conditionning. in terms of budget, i'm prepared to pay in the region of 30000 rupees. I have no idea if this is realistic so any advice or tips would be welcome. thanks for your help.

If you do it through an agent keep in mind that they usually charge a one-month-commission (which if you stay only one month is half of your budget...).
I guess that most owner do not like renting an appartment for just one month. I personally needed one for six months and for some owners this wasn't long enough...

'new delhi area': can you be a bit more precise? it is a huge area. where you have to go frequently? or does it not matter at all?

30000 rupees will give you a good ac, furnished appartment (if you can avoid the agent even more so). maybe the most posh areas are out of reach but else it's very much enough.

Did you thought about staying in a hotel? You would have more 1000 rupees a day...

thanks for the reply. you're right about the hotel bit - it's just i wanted my own place ideally. i need to be near Sunder Nagar street. i hoped that some people would be willing to rent out their places for a month, especially ex-pats going home for an extended stay etc. thanks for the advice.

Places in south delhi South Ex or R K puram will also be good
